Newbie Coupling

Ok, i'll be honest...i have never had a girlfriend.... not until recently at least...

So i wonder then, what do most other couples do...

I mean, i hear all these strange concepts of open relationships...long distances... and questions like.. how often do we keep in touch? and where is the line drawn separating caring and controlling?

Phewh!

Not Easy!

One can always plan but one can never foresee. You can plan and plan the relationship but unexpected things always will occur. Man can plan but God decides.

But one question that has been nagging at my head is 'what is a couple?'

A bf-gf type of relationship...

I mean, who invented the concept?

I wonder sometimes how long this phenomenon goes back... where members of the opposite sex share special feelings for each other yet are not bound by the ties of marriage...

Perhaps its a modern invention whereby in this society of ours we couple as in to test a person's likeability before we marry them....

Is it?

Or is it an excuse to get close to each other without any need for obligations and what not?

*sigh*

As society evolves, new concepts of coupling are invented... sometimes the media catches wind of them and tries to overcomplicate what is meant to be something simple. When celebrities couple, it becomes an entirely different concept...celebrity coupling...hah! What is sad is that people tend to pick up on these coupling fads and philosophies that they forget the real reason they coupled in the first place.

I admit that i too am influenced by these strange concepts... taking it fast...taking it slow... when to call...when not to...

I suppose i could crack my head over the best way to have a relationship but never find the answer.

I believe that coupling should be the most natural thing. Its after all ingrained in human nature to find a partner... its our fitrah to say the least.

The reason we couple is because we want someone to share our thoughts and feelings with. Someone to listen to and someone to talk to... i know that sounds cliched... but sometimes in cliches come the soundest advice... far better than any '10 ways to funkify ur relationship' column can give you.

Trust your feelings, trust your judgement and most importantly, trust your partner

If God wills it, then it will work out...naturally.

I kinda agree with you, you know! I mean all this "love" thing is bullshit...well...not that bullshit la kan. But, why must we make our own lives miserable... Rileks la! Buat pe nak semak2kan kepala otak kita sendiri, kan! just enjoy life the fullest la. Hidup kan sekali je. Btw, I don't believe in love at first sight! How 'bout you?
